Sally A. Crookston, 78 of Massillon, died Friday evening, November 16, 2018, surrounded by her husband, David J. Crookston, and their three children in Country Lawn Center, near Navarre, where she had resided for nearly three years. She had been ill for eight years. Sally was born March 21, 1940, a daughter of the late Harold and Mildred (Schneider) MacIsaac, and lived in Canton and Perry Township before marrying David on December 26, 1970, and moving to Massillon nearly 48 years ago. She graduated in 1958 from Timken Vocational High School in Canton and in 1960 from the Mercy School of Nursing in Canton. Sally was president of her nursing class. She was employed as a registered nurse at the offices of Doctors Hill and Shue and at the former Massillon Community Hospital before retiring. Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, David M. Crookston (fiancée Christa Sturgeon) of Massillon; two daughters, Mrs. Holly A. (Kelly) Herron of Perry Township and Mrs. Beth A. (Corey) Williams of Massillon; a brother, John (Karen) MacIsaac of Alliance; and five grandchildren, Jordan, Camdyn, Jaidan, and Braden Crookston and Curtis Williams. The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11a.m. Wednesday in her church, St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Massillon with Dr. Patty Long and the Rev. Mark (Kreemer) officiating. Friends may call an hour before the service at the church. Interment of the cremains has yet to be determined. The Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The family is grateful to the staff of Country Lawn and Crossroads Hospice for the care Sally received.
