Ryan W. Hardy, 40, passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2018. Ryan was born in Massillon on December 22, 1977; the son of William and Kay Hardy. He grew up in Bolivar and graduated from Tuscarawas Valley High School in 1996. Ryan enlisted in the Navy and served our country for six years in various parts of the world while working in Sonar aboard the U.S.S. Mobile Bay. Ryan explored many interests including martial arts, running, music, and journaling. An avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, he was ecstatic to see their 2018 Super Bowl win. Bright eyed and smiling, Ryan relied on quick wit and humor to put you at ease, even when facing his own personal adversity. He dearly loved his two children, Nicholas and Natalie, and was extremely proud of their accomplishments. He leaves the best part of himself in them. Ryan is survived by his parents; children, and their mother Savanna Hardy; sister Amanda (Danny) Silfani; nieces Madeline, Maria and Julia; and grandfather James Hawksworth. Cremation has taken place. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 24, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon; a memorial service will immediately follow. A private family service and interment will be held on Monday, June 25 at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be sent to: IBH Addiction Recovery Center, 3445 S. Main St., Akron OH 44319, or www.ibh.org/giving. Paquelet Funeral Home & Crematory 330-833-3222
