Ryan Thomas Shelt, age 44, of Dalton passed away Friday, January 3rd at Aultman/Dunlap Hospital. He was born January 1, 1970 in Massillon to Thomas & Mary (Mayfield) Shelt. Ryan was a 1988 graduate of Dalton High School and earned an Associate Degree from the University of Akron. A skilled tool and die maker, he was employed by Rayco Mfg. in Wooster. Having a lifelong interest in music, he had a band 'Lead Feathers' that played country, blues and sometimes rock & roll. Ryan could be considered a creative 'Renaissance Man' with his love of music, hunting, history, animals and the world around him, but his family always came first. Always willing to help others, Ryan's wish to be an organ donor is helping more than 100 others coping with illness. Ryan is survived by two children, Maddilyn Shelt and Forest Shelt, and their mother Amy Shelt, of Dalton. In addition there are his parents, Mary (late David) Lehman & Thomas (late Liz) Shelt; two sisters, Jennifer (Julian Wolfe) Shelt and Amanda Miller and many relatives and friends. Friends may call Thursday from 6 – 8 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A Memorial Service will be held 11AM Friday at Grace United Church of Christ in Massillon, Rev. Donald Schumaker will officiate. Messages of support and sympathy can be sent to the family at www.paquelet.com
