Ruthann Hosner, 73, went to be with Jesus and reunite with passed family Wednesday June 7th, 2023, from her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Ruthann was born on April 26, 1950, in Greentown, Ohio to the late Karl and Ruth (Kellogg) Sanford.
In addition to her parents, Ruthann was preceded in death by her sister Kay Sanford.
She was a 1968 graduate of Hoover High School and furthered her education at Akron University.
Ruthann devoted her life to knowing Jesus, serving him, and being an example of his love and Grace. She was a longtime member of Faith Family Church where she was active with their women’s prayer group and decorating committee among other involvements.
Ruthann had a very successful career as a banker, and she began working as a part-time teller at First Merit. Before she retired from First Merit (Huntington), Ruthann had achieved becoming a branch manager. She then started working for US Bank for several years where she held the title as manager before retiring. Ruthann finished her career at CSE in management, before officially retiring from the banking industry.
In her spare time, Ruthann enjoyed interior decorating and as a hobby, loved to design floral arrangements.
Ruthann will be deeply missed by her husband, Stanley Hosner; sons Scott, Matt (Sherry), Jason (Jay Wadian) and Ryan (Jon Pierce) Hosner; beloved grandchildren Kaylee (Zach) Nichols, Olivia (Jose’ Duran) Zimmerman, Hannah Zimmerman, Zachary Zimmerman and Mallory (Kyle Brooks) Zimmerman; and her brothers Dale (Nancy), Bruce and Wayne (Cindy) Sanford.
She was a devoted wife to her husband Stanley for 30+ years. They owned and operated Hosner Gallery, a flooring company, which later merged with Hosner Carpet One. Her love was solely dedicated to Stanley and enjoyed every minute discussing and planning new adventures, whether it was a new project on their home, visiting new homes for inspiration, or what vacation destinations they would visit.
Ruthann's passion in life was her family whether it was traveling to Put-in-Bay, church, or celebrating any and every occasion, Ruthann was always ready to spend time with those she loved the most.
Some other things she enjoyed doing, was playing tennis and attending sporting events with her son Scott she admired his ability and desire to travel and look for new adventures. She stated he inspired her to think out-of-the-box, and always love his thoughtfulness and care for his family.
Ruthann looked forward to Friday date nights with Stanley and her son and daughter, Matt and Sherry. She loved their creative and memorable parties that kept the family close. She admired Matt’s way of always watching over the family and loved Sherry’s beautiful smile and her tenacity to make sure her family was first. She also enjoyed having a sister in the lord and made Sherry an honorary daughter of the family. She was always thrilled to have Matt’s tailored dinners and desserts.
One of their favorite things of all time was talking about the Lord and sharing favorite Bible verses with her son Jason, and an occasional surprise Chai Tea. She loved his unconditional love and affection of others as well as nature. She also loved how he found his calm by seeing others happy, and always loved seeing him smile.
Ruthann admired Jay’s love of the family and his ability to solve problems and rescue her from computer troubles. She loved how he brightened a room simply by entering.
Ruthann always loved Ryan’s comedic abilities and how he energized the environment anywhere he was. She always felt pampered by getting the red-carpet treatment while visiting he and John’s home in Arizona. She loved Ryan’s attention to detail.
Ruthann raved about Jon’s cooking and how he complemented Ryan’s funniness. She loved the atmosphere he was able to create.
All of her grandchildren had a special place in her heart.
Kaylee’s love of animals and her beautiful marriage to her husband, Zach. Ruthann was so excited to find out a new baby was on the way. Her love for Kaylee ran deep from the years they had together. She always had a good time attending Zach’s shows and thought he was one of the best drummers she had heard. She enjoyed watching them build a life together.
She always admired Olivia‘s beauty and strength. Ruthann loved her confidence, and immediately fell in love with Jose’ when they met for the first time, she was thrilled hearing they would bring a new baby into this world and add another beautiful member to the family.
She loved watching Hannah through the years be so protective and parental to her siblings. She especially loved how Hannah would come over just to hang out and watch T.V. with them.
Ruthann would talk about the leadership and abilities that Zach had and was so proud of his accomplishments at school, then at work. She always said nothing will stop Zach from getting ahead in life.
Ruthann watch Mallory from a young girl to a strong woman who went after the things she wanted. She deeply loved how Mallory cares for everyone and is a protector.
She loved how Mallory and Kyle were together and was excited to watch them build their life. Ruthann enjoyed hearing about Kyle’s creative ways to express his love for Mallory.
A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family and a celebration of life for the public will be held at Faith Family Church Chapel on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. with a service from 6:00-7:00p.m. . Those attending, please use entrance “B” at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Ruthann’s name to Faith Family Church, 8200 Freedom Ave. NW., North Canton, OH 44720
