Ruth V. Buckwalter, age 90 of North Lawrence, went home to be with the Lord on February 02, 2021. She was born on March 25, 1930 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania to the late Arthur and Mary (Weiser) Essick. She married Ray L. Buckwalter on September 03, 1948 and they shared 69 years together until his passing in 2018. Ruth worked at Sunnyside Eggs and R.W. Screw until her retirement. She enjoyed making crafts, cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events, and singing. Ruth and her husband Ray joyfully served at Amherst Community Church, where they were members since 1960, and volunteered at Meals on Wheels and MCC Connections Thrift Shop. Ruth will be remembered for always having a joyful song in her heart, her gift of hospitality and making people feel welcome everywhere she went. She leaves to cherish her memory; her children Janice (Robert) Knapp, Maryl (Randy) Lehman and Dan (Diane) Buckwalter; her daughter-in- law Lelah Buckwalter; her grandchildren April (Darin) Ramser, Joseph (Hilary) Buckwalter, Katrina Dervin, Stephen (Brittany) Knapp, Brandon (Jessica) Lehman, Brent Lehman, Kirsten, Gideon, Chloe, and Levi Buckwalter; her great-grandchildren Seth, Isaac, Trinity, Lillyana, Owen, Niomi, Paisley and Weston; and a host of family and friends. In addition to her parents, and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her son Bryan Buckwalter; her sister Dorothy Faith Shoemaker and her brother Forrest Essick. A Celebration of her life will be held and livestreamed Facebook Live Streaming at the Paquelet & Arnold Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon on Saturday, February 06, 2021 at 11a.m. with Pastors Galen Oakes II and Calvin Hamblin officiating. The burial will take place at Pleasant View Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Greenfield Estates, Home Helpers and the Barberton Adult Day Center. Continuing with COVID-19 precautions, all attending will be asked to follow proper social distancing protocol and masks are required.
