Ruth M. Luke

Ruth M. Luke, age 84, of Canton passed away January 28, 2015 at her residence. Ruth was born July 24, 1930 in Canton to the late Bernard and Helen (Kirchner) Kessler. She was a charter member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert Luke (2010), son James Luke (2012), daughter Patricia Maurer (2011), grandson Sgt. Daniel Patron (2011), great grandson Justin Luke (2003) and three brothers, John, James and Donald Kessler. Ruth was devoted to her family; she especially enjoyed playing games and spending Wednesdays with the 'lunch bunch'. Ruth is survived by six children and spouses: Rosemary Gue, Thomas (Theresa) Luke, Kathy (Frank) Patron, Robin (Michael) Hupp, Mary (Mark) Phillips, Jacqueline (Gerald) Keane, daughter in law, Mary Jean Luke and son-in-law, Tom Maurer. She has 25 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Saturday January 31 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Friends may greet family Saturday at the church beginning at 9AM. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Ruth's name to either: James Luke Memorial Scholarship or Sgt.
