Ruth Louise Shank

Ruth Louise Shank, age 88 of Massillon, passed away Monday at the Laurels of Massillon. She was born on April 13, 1918 in Canton to the late Francis E. and Mary (Billings) Locy and was a resident of Massillon her entire life. Ruth was a 1936 graduate of McKinley High School. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Massillon Chapter of Women of the Moose. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and working with flowers. Ruth had worked for Dulabahns and more recently for Flowers by Pat. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Daniel Shank (1982); brother George E. Locy (1981); sisters, Dortha V. Thom (1981) and Helen D. Mills (1931). Ruth is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou (Robert) Hoffner of Massillon; 2 grandsons, Michael (Kelly) Myers and Erik (June) Myers; 6 great grandchildren, Danielle, Ashley, Justin, Cole, Logan and Carolyn Myers; nieces, Cheryl (George) Paytas and Joan (Dan) Frenz; dearest friend Eleanor Hammond and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services celebrating Ruth’s life will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the Arnold – Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon with Rev. James Zimmerman officiating. Calling hours will be Thursday 6:00 PM– 8:00 PM at the Arnold – Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon and one hour prior to the services on Friday.
