Ruth Hodgkiss

Ruth Hodgkiss, age 88 of Massillon, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 with her family at her side. She was born on January 27, 1929 in Wheeling, WV and was the daughter of Howard and Vancie (Wilson) Hartenstein. They preceded her in death. Ruth had worked as a secretary at Massillon Plaque and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lester Hodgkiss. Ruth is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Niki and Rock Yager, her son and daughter-in-law, Neal and Karen Hodgkiss, her grandchildren, Kendra (Gary) Zeigler, Krista (Adam) Wilgus, Kyle Yager and Jake Yager and her great grandchildren, Cooper Yager, Ava Ann and Grayson Zeigler and Charlie Wilgus. A service to celebrate Ruth’s life will take place on Friday, August 11th at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church (3545 Amherst NW, Massillon, OH) with her pastor, Nancy Bacon officiating. Cremation will take place following the service and she will be buried with her husband at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 10th from 6-8 pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be made in Ruth’s name to your favorite charity.
