Ruth A. Mcatee

Ruth A. McAtee, 79, of Massillon, passed away on February 6, 2023. She was born on January 30, 1944 to the late Arthur and Alice (Heiser) Ricosky. She was a 1962 graduate of Massillon Washington High School. She married Thomas McAtee on January 19, 1963and they recently celebrated 60th wedding anniversary.

Ruth worked in Housekeeping at Doctors Hospital for 25 years until retirement. She enjoyed reading, visiting bookstores and furniture stores, cooking, bowling, but most importantly spending time with her grandchildren.

Ruth was devoted to her family and made sure they were well taken care. She will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.

She is survived by her husband Thomas McAtee; her children Denise (Vincent) McAtee -Warth, Todd (Julie) McAtee and Angela McAtee -Velzka; her grandchildren Jessica, Nicole, Jordan, Caitlin, Michael, Gabrielle, Zachary and Nicholas; her great-grandchildren Sullivan, Parker and Emerson; her sister Linda (Joseph) Newsome as well as a host of family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Serban, Saundra Ricosky and Judy Winters; her brothers Robert Ricosky and Arthur "Butch" Ricosky.
