Ruth A. Landis, age 86, of Canton Ohio, went home peacefully to be with Jesus on August 3, 2020, surrounded by her family. She died after a long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by William A. Landis, who was her husband for 48 years, and second husband George A. Brantch, of 5 ½ years. Her parents were Ada and Sylvester Martz of Canton Ohio. She is survived by her sister Carol Steiner- Klingensmith (Neal) of Longview, Washington. Ruth’s three children are, Bonnie (David) Groubert; Debbie (Rick) Tate; and David (Diana) Landis. Ruth was especially proud of her 10 grand and 20 great grandchildren with one on the way! Also missing her will be her many cousins, nieces and nephews. Ruth was a graduate of Timken Vocational. Her faith in God and love for family has always been important to her. Throughout her life, she taught Sunday School, loved to sew, bake, take care of her yard and plant flowers. She was a faithful member of Whipple Avenue Baptist church, where she helped in the nursery, VBS, and sang in the choir. She also enjoyed going to Forever Young, and later in life the JRC adult daycare. Ruth always valued all the many friends she met along the way. Ruth loved to laugh and had a good sense of humor. Anyone who wanted to know more about her she told them “I graduated in 51, got married in 52, had Bonnie in 53, Debbie in 54, Dave in 55, and I haven’t done a darn thing since”! However, those who love her know how much she gave to her family. Although her family will miss her dearly, they take comfort in knowing she is at home with Jesus and will see her again one day. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 7th from 11am to 1 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. and be livestreamed for those that cannot attend which can be viewed by clicking the link below on the day of the service. Her final resting place will be at Forest Hill Cemetery next to her beloved husband, William. Facebook Live Streaming Click Here
