Ruth A. Donahue

Ruth A. Donahue, age 77, of Massillon passed away August 15, 2011 at Affinity Medical Center. Ruth was born January 15, 1934 in Massillon to the late Michael and Susan Halco. Ruth was a life resident of Massillon and a 1952 graduate of Washington High School. She was employed in the office at Perry Rubber until she became a full time Mother. Friends will remember her wonderful baked goods, especially her ‘Slovak Nut Roll Cookies’. Many, many friends were blessed to receive crocheted scarves and afghans that she hand made. Ruth looked forward to her daily visits from Max, her furry friend, by spoiling him with his favorite dog treats. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James E. Donahue (2007). Ruth is survived by her three children and granddaughters who will miss her dearly, Laurie A (Jeff) Houston of Jackson Twp., James P. Donahue of North Canton and Patricia S. (Scott Smith) Donahue of Massillon; granddaughters, Erin A. (Brian) Goode and Meghan L. Houston; six sisters and brothers, Mary Montini, Harry Halco, Michael (Julie) Halco, Andy (Rita) Halco, Helen (Jack) Jones and Russell (Joyce) Halco. Funeral Service will be 10 AM Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church in Massillon, her pastor Rev. John Telloni will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon and from 9:30 AM Thursday until the service at the church.
