Ruby "Pauline" Cochran

Ruby “Pauline” Cochran, 87, of Massillon, passed away on December 23, 2017. Polly was born on April 14, 1930 in West Liberty, West Virginia to the late John and Georgia (Haught) Cochran. She was a 1948 graduate of West Liberty High School and then continued on to West Liberty State College where she graduated in 1952 with a Bachelor of Education degree. Upon graduation, Polly taught English at West Jefferson High School for 3 years and then 28 years at Washington High School in Massillon. After retiring she spent many years performing puppet shows and volunteering at the Massillon Museum which she thoroughly enjoyed. She loved Shakespeare, fine literature, and anything British. Polly will be deeply missed by her nephews Gary (Mary) Cochran, Dennis (Tammy) Cochran, Doug (Bonita) Cochran, and Mark (Bonnie) Cochran all in the Dayton, Ohio area; beloved care givers and dear friends Beth Martin and Jackie Schmidt; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and a wonderful circle of loving friends. In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by her brother Paul Cochran and sister-in-law Mary Jane Cochran. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place and no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Massillon Museum, 121 Lincoln Way E, Massillon, OH 44646.
