Roy S. Levenger, 87, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016. He was born in Chicago, IL on July 18, 1928 to the late Stanley and Clara Levenger. He married Virginia Taylor on April 23, 1949 and they shared nearly 67 years until her passing on March 20, 2016 He served his country in U.S. Navy near the end of World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He worked as a Purchasing agent with Superior's Brand Meats until his retirement. Roy also worked for Stark County Development Board and served on the board for Goodwill Industries. He and Virginia were long time members of First Baptist in Massillon, where they both taught Sunday School. Roy is survived by his children, Carol (Jim) Weisgarber of Jackson Twp., Stan (Deanna) Levenger of Green and Lynne (Wayne) Mackenzie of Forest, VA; five grandchildren, Lisa, Austin, Melissa, Ben and Lauren; five great-grandchildren, Luke, Bailey, Adelynne, Layne and Alexandria, and a brother Larry Levenger. He was preceded in death by his sisters Lois and Marilyn. Friends and family may call at the First Baptist Church, Massillon on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 10 to 11a.m. with a funeral service at 11a.m , Dr. Roger Alber, officiating.
