Roy H. Schoenfeld

Roy H. Schoenfeld, 85, of Jackson Township, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Roy was born on September 2, 1938 in Massillon, Ohio the son of the late Harry and Anna Maria (Wazlavek) Schoenfeld.

Roy was a graduate of Washington High School class of 1956 and was a member of the Massillon Tigers swimming team. He met his beloved wife Gail Ann (Head) Schoenfeld of 63 years in High School and was married on April 8, 1961. Roy was a Vietnam war veteran and served with the United States Marine Corps for 8 years. He worked as a brakeman on the railroad and retired from the CSX Railroad Company. Roy was an outdoorsman and an avid fisherman (Ricelake, Ontario being his favorite destination for many years to fish). Roy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jackie Ann Schoenfeld, great-grandson, Miles Anthony Schoenfeld, and 7 siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Gail AnnSchoenfeld, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage; sons, Kevin (Jacquie) Schoenfeld, and Jerry (Lisa) Schoenfeld; grandchildren, Jacob, Kayla, Dustin, and Christian (fiancee' Rileigh Kohler) Schoenfeld; 6 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Gretchen Heffner.
