Roy Frederick, Jr.

Roy Frederick, Jr., 89 passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Altercare of Navarre. He was born on May 5, 1925 in Massillon and was the son of the late Roy M. and Esther (Reidle) Frederick. Roy was a dedicated family man, who enjoyed bowling, fishing and Massillon Football. He also a skilled woodworker and made fine furniture for his family. He was a past member of the Orrville Sportsman Club and had attended St. John's United Church of Christ. He retired from Ecko Housewares in Massillon after thirty eight years of service as a Tool and Die Maker. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley J. (Witmer) Frederick and a brother, William Frederick. Roy is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Linda (Howard) Wacker, Diann (Ron) Shilling and Cindy Semper, grandchildren, Eric (Tonya) Shilling, Marc (April) Shilling and Wendy Miller, step grandchildren, Brenda (Mark) Bolitho and Jenny (Don) Gaut and his great grandchildren, Christen Miller, Aaliyah Hankison, Brennan Shilling, Kody and Kyle Shilling and 7 step great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Roy Frederick, Jr. will take place on Saturday at 10:30AM at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road NE in Massillon with Celebrant Kevin O'Brien officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Memorial gifts in his name are suggested to Stark County Humane Society.
