Rosia M. Brooks

Rosia Brooks, age 69 of Massillon went home to be with the Lord on February 16, 2020. She was born in Mansfield, Ohio on June 09, 1950 to the late Cornelius and Maxine (Maddox) Gomez. She was a 1968 graduate of Mansfield Sr. High School. She worked as a care giver for Leeda Service until her retirement. She attended New Life Church of God and Christ. She was a devoted servant to God and enjoyed helping others and volunteered to feed the elderly. Rosia was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Rosia leaves to cherish her memory her sons Antonio (Kelly) James Sr. and Christopher (Teonna) James Jr.; stepchildren Bucky and Michelle McPherson; grandchildren Terrance Roddy, Britteny King, Antonio James Jr., Shelby James, Royale Mitchell, Christiana James, Tomar Pettis, Tierra Pettis, Kenneth Pettis, Tonio Pettis, Amyah Radel and Milani White; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters Regina Gomez and Wanda Dudley; brother Cornelius Gomez Jr. as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Rosia was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Tyishia James; and her sisters Patricia and Gwendolyn Gomez.. A Home Going Service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11:00 A. M. in Massillon. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until the time of the service.
