Rosemary Weaver

February 18, 1951 — October 1, 2016

Rosemary Weaver On October 1, 2016, Rosemary Weaver of Canton lost her courageous battle against Carcinoid Cancer and Parkinson's disease. She was born to the late Harold and Dorothy (Santarelli) Hockinbury on February 18, 1951 in Bellaire and raised in Shadyside. She graduated in 1969 from Bellaire St. John High School and Columbus Business University in 1970. Rosie worked at First National Bank of Massillon in the Trust Department before moving to Perry High School as the attendance secretary. She met her husband Tom at Arthur Murray Dance Studio, and they were married May 22, 1982. Everyone loved to watch the two of them at weddings as they were fantastic dancers. Rosie is survived by the three men who were her whole world, husband Tom and sons, John and Ryan. They were amazing caregivers to her in her final days, and she was so very proud of all of them. Surviving too are her sister, Linda (Den) Goodson; nephew and niece, Chris, wife Lisa, children Jacob, and Sophia Rose Goodson and Mandy, husband Ryan, children Ethan and Emma Leitner; in-laws, Joe and Dorothy Weaver, Dick Weaver, Pete and Debbie Weaver, Mike Weaver, Pat and Renee Weaver, Anne and John Papadopulos, Mary and Christopher Carsten, and Tony and Sue Weaver; and a host of wonderful nieces and nephews. Not to be forgotten was her canine companion, Ollie, who fetched her morning paper and watched over her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her in-laws Eugene and Thelma Weaver; beloved sister-in-law, Barb Weaver; and niece, Angie Weaver. Friends and family may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Raymond Paul at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Massillon on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A special thanks to the many neighbors, friends, extended family, doctors (especially Dr. Shruti Trehan and Dr. Barbara Volk) and nurses who tended to her needs, visited, brought in meals, and offered their prayers and support during this difficult time.
