Rose Marie McPherson, 83, of Massillon, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014. Rose was born on November 14, 1930 in Canton to Thomas and Marie (Evangalista) Valentine. She was a 1948 graduate of Timken High School. Rose lived most of her life in the Canton/Massillon area except between the years of 1973 and 1986 when she lived in California. Rose was a woman of strong faith. Although she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massillon, she attended many churches including St. Peter's Catholic Church of Canton and the former Shrine of St. Dymphna. She loved to travel, cook and spend time with her family. Rose cherished her role as wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend-she never knew a stranger and was always trying to make someone else's life easier or day a little brighter with a phone call, card, or prayer. Rose was preceded in death by her parents and by two husbands who loved her dearly, Frank "Bud" of 18 years and Charleston "Mike" McPherson of 28 years. She is also preceded in death by her siblings Mary DeGeorgio, Michael Valentine, Amelia Dasco, Joseph Valentine, Anna Mae Studeny, Herman Valentine, and Rudy Valentine; and grandson, Daniel Clark. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Joseph (Lillian), Thomas (Karen), Gregory (Suzanne), Christopher ( Tracy) and Timothy (Dawn) Clark and stepdaughter Tina (McPherson)Thompson (James). She also leaves behind ten grandchildren Jennifer (Dave)Fricke, Roman (Gina ) Dasco, Natalie Clark (John Chiarelli), Emily Clark, Shawn Martin, Brandon Clark, Cory Clark, Benjamin Clark, Katie Clark and Ryan Clark; and seven great-grandchildren Alexis Clark, Kayden Fricke, Connor Fricke, Kamryn Fricke, Carter Martin, Gabriella Dasco, Sienna Marie Dasco as well as several special nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church - Massillon. Fr. Edward Gretchko will be Officiating. Entombment will follow at North Lawn Cemetery.
