Rose Marie Kosierowski

December 16, 1919 — March 17, 2013

Rose Kosierowski, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother was born on December 16, 1919 in Sicily and passed away on March 17, 2013 at the Astoria in Canton, Ohio. Rose, her mother, father and sister came to the United States in 1920 and settled in Dover, Ohio. Rose graduated from New Philadelphia High School and worked in her father's shoe repair shop in New Philadelphia, OH and at JJ Newbury in Dover Ohio. Rose worked for the WPA in the engineering department in Washington DC during World War II Rose married Anthony "Tony" Kosierowski on March 2, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover, OH and they shared 61 years together until his passing on December 26, 2007. After starting her family, she worked at JC Penney CO in Canton, Ohio for over 25 years and was proud to be the Manager of the Coat and Bridal Department and then a sales clerk in the Furniture department. Rose loved to dance and listen to Polka music. Most of all she loved a good political conversation and talking to people. Her pearls of wisdom will be long remembered. She is survived by her children Anthony (Connie) Kosierowski of LeCanto, FL, Patricia (Michael) Besselman of Massillon, OH, Peggy (Richard) Eash of Massillon, OH and Jane (Richard) Oyster of North Canton, OH; her grandchildren Karen (David) Grisham of Lakeland, FL, Richard A. Eash of Akron, OH, Kristine (Daniel) Griffith of Massillon, OH, and Kelley and Tricia Oyster of North Canton; her great-children Dalton and Caprielle Grisham; her sisters Ann (Brannan) Kline of North Canton, OH, Joann (Hutrus) Beitner of New Philadelphia, OH and Ida Altier of New Philadelphia, and a host of Nieces and Nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Francis Starnieri, Mary Brundo, Angie Smart, and Grace Correll Shroyer and her brother Joseph Maugeri. A funeral service will be held at on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Paquelet Funeral Home at 11 A.M. Father Chris Luoni will be officiating The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 (Tonight) from 6 to 8 P.M. and 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Rose's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 408 Ninth St. SW, Canton, OH 44707 (330) 966-7343.
