Rose M. Rini, age 92 of Massillon, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Affinity Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born on December 18, 1921 in Wellsville, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Marino and Mary (Rivelle) Sylvester. She was a Massillon resident for most of her life and graduated from Washington High School in 1941. She was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David "Babe" Rini, Sr., her sisters, Marian, Eleanor and Helen and her brother Anthony. She is survived by her children, Joanne M. Kocar, Carol Ryjowski, Mary Lou (Dan) Reed and David E. Rini, Jr. "Nana" adored her 6 grandchildren, Deborah DeMeo, Diane (Frank) Rossi, Amy Anthony, Ryan (Kim) Reed, Carrie (Bob) Pfister and David Rini, III and 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, Joe, Rocco (Joan) and David. Rose was the matriarch of this family. She has given many cherished memories to all of her family, especially many loved nieces and nephews. Rose was a previous member of the Massillon Senior Center, where she volunteered crocheting hundreds of beautiful Afghans for nursing homes and babies. She loved to polka at the Wednesday dances at the Polish American Hall with so many wonderful friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Barbara Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the parish Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. The family would like to thank the excellent staff at Affinity Medical Center, especially Dr. Saravanan for their wonderful care, and the compassionate care given by Crossroads Hospice and Amherst Meadows.
