Ronald W. Skelly, 80, of Massillon, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. Ron was born on December 13, 1938 in Massillon, the son of the late William and Edna (Flounders) Skelly. He was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1956 graduate of Washington High School. He was a lifelong Massillon Tigers fan. Ron was a United States Army veteran, where he was with the 82nd Airborne Division. He retired from the Eaton Corporation following 25 years of service. Ron enjoyed life. He traveled to all 48 contiguous states, every National Park, and 22 Major League Baseball Parks. He was actively involved in his family’s activities, which included attending as many of his son’s and grandchildren’s sporting events as possible. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche I. Skelly, his twin brother, Kenneth Skelly, step-son, James Randolph, and step-daughters, Kimberly Jo Biehl, Jeanette Shaffer, and Joyce Randolph. He is survived by his son, Michael (Lisa) Skelly; grandchildren, Matthew (Ashley Desiato) Skelly, Ryan Skelly, and Sabrina Skelly; great granddaughter, Olivia Skelly; brother, James (Jacquie) Skelly; step-sons, George Randolph and Edward (Cindy) Laudermilt; and numerous step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Newman Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ron Skelly’s name to The Wilderness Center: www.wildernesscenter.org.
