Ronald E. Michel, age 64 passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 24, 2012. He was born on July 28, 1947 in Canton to the late Rupert E. and Irene (Rohrig) Michel. He was a 1965 graduate of Perry High School. He was a graduate of Akron University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Ron proudly served in the U.S. Army. He worked for General Tire for many years and was currently employed at NFM Wielding Engineers. Ron's biggest passion was restoring his 1968 Camaro. He was known as a kind, loving and generous person who will be deeply missed. Ron is survived by his sisters Dianna Michel and Elaine (David) Filicky; 2 nieces Michele (Tom) Bova, and Jennifer (Aaron) Filicky Hull; 2 nephews Brian May and Michael Filicky, as well as host of family members and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Canton on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Patrick Manning officiating. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 6 to 8 P.M. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
