Ronald A. Yingling age 76 of Jackson Twp. passed away at his residence Sunday evening surrounded by his family. Ron was born March 9, 1935 in Massillon to the late Alfred J. & Dorothy (Rohr) Yingling. He was a 1953 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a graduate of the University of Dayton with an Associate Degree in Engineering. Ron then received a Bachelors Degree in Education from The Ohio State University and a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Akron. He then served in the US Army. Ron was employed at Union Metal Mfg., and was a teacher for Canton Local Schools for 35 years retiring in 1997. After retirement Ron continued working part-time with Canton Local Schools doing AV repairs for 12 years. He was a life long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massillon and a member of the K of C #554 and Central Catholic Booster Club. He volunteered with the Hot Lunch Program at the K of C and was an AARP Volunteer Tax consultant. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Catherine (Brubach) Yingling in 1995. Ron is survived by his wife, Ann Harty Yingling of the residence; four children and their spouses, Jeannine M. & Robert Baker of Mason, R. Christopher & Nicole Yingling of Avon, Marie P. & Michael Giffen of Cincinnati and Patrick R. & Michelle Yingling of Monroe; eleven grandchildren, Kayleigh, Isabel and Anna Baker, Catherine and Alexandra Yingling, William, Mary and Clare Giffen, and Jake, Ella and Owen Yingling ; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne & Patty Yingling of Massillon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massillon. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. In lieu of flowers send donations to the Ronald & Mary Catherine Yingling Scholarship Fund at Canton Central Catholic High School.
