Rogers Curtis Batiste

Rogers Curtis Batiste, 64, passed away on December 19, 2016, following a brief illness. He was born in Ascension Parish, LA on March 31, 1952 to the late Jonas and Emily (Johnson) Batiste. He was a veteran of The United States Army. A graduate of Lowery High School and Southern University. He retired from Ford Motor Company. Rogers loved his family, working out, Mathematics and electronics. He is survived by his four children, Andrae C. Batiste, Toussaint Batiste, Jack Fountain and Latoya Dickens; nine grandchildren, Laurent, Mckensey, Drew-Mikel, Sydney, Khalil, Khaliope, Khalivia, Quintin and Quincy seven brothers and sisters, Rose Anderson, Floyd, Jimmie, Alfred, and Clarence Batiste, Hilda "Bobbie" Scott and Ceola Jones; and his former wife, Janet Batiste. He was also preceded in death by his four brothers, Lloyd, Herbert, Charles and Louis Batiste; and a sister, Joyce Batiste. Friends may gather on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home. A Going Home Celebration will be held Thursday at 7:00pm, Rev. Leonard King, officating.
