Rodney “Rod” L. Schram, age 57 of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning at his residence. He was born in Massillon on August 6, 1949 to the late Arthur and Anne (Brinkman) Schram and graduated from Washington High School in 1968. Rod retired from Lukens Steel in 1999 following 31 years of service as a mechanic. He was a member of the Sons and Daughters of Herman. Rod enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, working on cars and wood working. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Joe Weber who passed away in 2002. He is survived by his wife, Connie L. (Kilgore) Schram with whom he celebrated 35 years of marriage on July 3, 2006, sons and daughter-in-law; Scott A. and Dana Schram of Clemmons, NC, James C. Schram of Massillon, sisters and brothers-in-law: Linda and Don Masters of Massillon, Bonnie Weber of Advance, NC, Georgia and Gary Price of Canton, grandchildren: Kaity, Spencer, Tony and Lexy Schram. Funeral services celebrating Rod’s life will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Arnold – Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon with R. Langley Collins officiating. Calling hours will be Wednesday 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the services on Thursday. Interment will follow the services at Brookfield Cemetery.
