Robinetta 'Bobbie' Smith Depuy age 95 of Massillon passed away Wednesday April 26, 2006 at Meadow Wind Health Care Center. Robinetta was born November 26, 1910 in Coshocton, OH, the eldest of seven children born to the late William S. & Minnie (Overholt) Smith. She graduated from Springfield (Ohio) High School in 1929 and for eighteen years was office manager for McCleary-Jones Insurance Agency in Springfield. After her marriage in 1946 to Claude Depuy they moved to Massillon and she became secretary to the late Dr. Glen Holingsworth for the Massillon Board of Education, retiring in 1971. She then joined her husband in owning and operating the former Plymouth House Sporting Goods Store, both retiring in 1981. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Gamma Nu Sunday School Class, Senior Saints Choir, American Baptist Women Ministries and Widows Fellowship. Bobbie loved children and for many years was a Sunday school and Vacation Bible School teacher. She kept in touch with many of 'her kids', as they did with her. She and her husband served as counselors for the Baptist Youth Fellowship. She was past treasurer for Church Women United and did volunteer work for the Salvation Army and the Massillon Senior Citizens Center. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Tabby in 1987, sisters Myrtle Irene Smith, Lucille Bond, Kathryn Hyser, Wilma Arthur and brother William R. Smith all of Springfield. She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Charles and Sharon Depuy of Palm Bay, FL, grandson Joseph Depuy of Frederick, MD, granddaughter Angela (George) Quigley and great grandchildren, Dustin and Kayla of Dawsonville, GA, a sister Betty Beals of Springfield and her namesake Robinetta Mount of Columbus, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Virginia Levenger was a compassionate caregiver during her confinement; Helen Fox was also a faithful companion. A combination of Homegoing and Celebration of her life will be 10:30 AM Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Massillon, her Pastors Dr. Roger Alber and Ken Killian will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Garden. Friends may call 6-8 PM Friday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon and from 9:30 AM until the service at the church.
