Robert Young

Robert Young, age 85 of Massillon, passed away Monday, June 6, 2011 at Laurels of Massillon. Bobby was born March 30, 1926 in Anniston, AL to the late Jim Roe & Susie Sears. During World War II he served in the US Navy and received an honorable discharge. For many years he was employed at the Army Depot in Anniston, AL. In 2006 Bobby moved to Massillon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Young (2006); five sisters, Ruth Adams, Corrine Gosphery, Lucille Relford, Alice Henderson, Elizabeth (Betty) Gresham; three brothers, Thomas, Jim and George Young. His memory will be cherished by his three children and their spouses, Victoria & David Sheegog, Joyce Benjamin & Robert David & Linda Young; seven grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. A Homegoing Celebration of Robert Young’s life will be Noon Friday at St. James AME Zion Church in Massillon. Friends are invited to call Thursday from 6-8 PM at the church and from 11 AM until the time of the service on Friday.
