Robert W. Nordhaus

Robert W. Nordhaus, age 89 of Massillon passed away January 29, 2014 at his home with his family at his side. Bob was born January 26, 1925 in Dennmark, WI to the late Herman & Frances (Bromberg) Nordhaus. He received an honorable discharge from the US Navy. Bob & his family moved to Massillon in 1956. He retired from Scott Foresman & Company in Educational Publishing and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, K of C #554 and the Fourth Degree. Bob spent his retirement volunteering his time, helping people with remodeling and repairing most anything around their homes. Bob had a deep faith and shared that faith with those around him. Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years Susan Nordhaus of the residence. They have five daughters: Nancy (Earl) Wagner, Barbara (Joe) Hayes, Mary Jo (James) Freyermuth, Julie Berbari and Jane (Mike) Wood. He leaves a sister, Joyce Smertz and a brother Clifford Nordhaus. There are 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Saturday February 1, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fr. Edward Gretchko will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the church Saturday from 9:30 AM until the Mass. Memorials to Aultman Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
