Robert W. Frizzell, age 85 of Jackson Township, passed away March 23, 2011 at his residence. Robert was born on March 16, 1926 in Akron, Ohio the son of the late Jack and Elsie (Simpson) Frizzell. He was a 1944 graduate of Washington High School. Robert was a veteran of WWII having served in Europe with the 95th Infantry Division during the Battle of the Bulge earning the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He retired in 1989 from Ohio Edison Company with 42 years of service in the engineering department. Robert was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, a life member of Massillon Elks, and the American Legion. He was a longtime member of the Massillon Tiger booster and Touchdown clubs, and a season ticket holder for 50 years. He also enjoyed the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Buckeyes. Robert was an avid bowler, and was happiest working on household and woodworking projects. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years Barbara (Craven) Frizzell in 2010, and grandson Brett Frizzell. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children and their spouses Dennis (Kathy) Frizzell of Wellington, FL, Jack Frizzell of Stuart, FL, Randy (Kathy) Frizzell of Massillon, Susan (Darrel) Chovan of Massillon, and Janet (Rick) Madison of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren Shannon (Dave) Newsome of Grove City, OH, Zachary and Marissa Chovan both of Massillon. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Rev. Barry Stirbens will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Stark County.
