Robert Paul Fliger

Robert “Bob” P. Fliger, age 73, of Massillon, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Canton, Ohio on May 21, 1948 to the late Kenneth and Dorothy Fliger. He was a 1966 graduate of Canton South High School. He married Sandra Boros on June 05, 1971 and they shared 50 years together until his passing. Bob served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Air Force. After military service Bob graduated from the University of Akron. He worked at various jobs throughout his business life with his final job being a Corporate Trainer for Carter Lumber until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling with his favorite destinations being Alaska and his cross country train vacation that included Mount Rushmore, Denver and Florida. He is survived by his wife Sandy; his daughters Jocelyne Marie(Jeremy Deese) Fliger and Amanda Lynn (Martin) Wood; his granddaughter Morgyn Elizabeth Deese; his sisters Geraldine (John) Thompson and Mary (Dan) Lambert; his brothers Richard (Kathleen) Fliger and James (Darlene) Fliger and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his sister Judith O’Connor and his brother Kenneth Fliger and his brother-in-law Glen O’Connor and sister-in-law Janice Fliger. A brief service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. with military honors from U.S. Air Force for Bob’s faithful and honorable service to his country during the Vietnam War.
