Robert P. Burkett, Jr.

Robert P. "Mijo" Burkett, Jr., 50 of Canton, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016. He was born in Massillon on August 15, 1965 and was the son of the late Robert and Phyllis (Williams) Burkett, Sr. He was a 1983 graduate of Perry High School and had been a roofer for over 30 years, currently employed by Meister Roofing. Bobby was an exceptional bowler, with having bowled numerous 300 games and multiple 800 series. He also enjoyed golfing, and all aspects of auto racing. He is survived by his sisters, Cherie (Tom) Dailey and Michelle (Charles) Moore II, brothers, Dennis (Renee) Stitt and Greg (Jana) Stitt, his uncle Bill (Joan) Williams and several nieces and nephews, numerous friends and girlfriend Jackie Lee. He is also survived by his beloved dog Buster and cat Smokey. A service to celebrate Bobby's life will take place on Saturday at the Paquelet Funeral Home at 5 p.m. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Stark County Humane Society.
