Robert W. Miller

Robert W. Miller, 87, of Massillon, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. Bob was born on May 5, 1937 in Akron, Ohio the son of the late Walter and Mary (Coker) Miller.

Bob graduated from Washington High School in 1955, where he sang in the choir. He also served on the Massillon Police Department. He was promoted to Detective and retired following 28 years of service. Bob also served in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Sergeant from 1956-1962. He was an active member of the Massillon Tiger Gun Club. In his later years he enjoyed playing golf, billiards, fishing, and spending time with friends in Naples, FL. He was lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Massillon and a member of the F.O.P. He was a wonderful grandfather, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Miller, whom he shared 40 years of marriage; children, Robin (Rich) Gaeta and Scott (Necole) Miller; step-children, Susan Robson, Marilea Hindman-Kistler, Stanley Boerner, Sue Lee, Mary Furlong, Catherine Lawson, Robert Boerner, Rick Boerner, and Patricia Huenerwadel; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son, Steven Hindman; and sister, Frances Binder.

There will be a private family gathering. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: F.O.P.
