Robert L. Kemp, 80, lifelong resident of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 6, 2022. He was born on October 3, 1941, in Massillon, to the late Robert and Helen (Benethum) Kemp. Bob was a member of First United Methodist Church for many years and also where he was awarded as the first male, with the Lady’s Guild honorarium. He worked primarily as a custodian, but he could be best described as a jack-of-all trades. He loved volunteering with the Salvation Army and was very dedicated in other community service work in the town. He was also a devoted Massillon Tiger fan. Bob will be deeply missed by his children, Lora Kell, Leslie Spencer, Tammy (Chris) Scammicca, Darren (Kim) Kemp, Chris Kemp, and Cody Budd; his sister Sally Caldwell; as well as 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Robert L. Kemp Jr. and Troy Kemp, and his daughter Lisa Kemp. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Monday, June 13th at 1 p.m. at United Methodist Church in Massillon.
