Robert Lee Harwig

Robert Lee 'Bob' Harwig, age 68 of Massillon passed away Friday June 7th. He was born August 27, 1944 in Massillon to the late Bernard & Aleen (Cummins) Harwig. Bob was a 1962 graduate of Washington High School. A union carpenter, he and his partner, Mike Grim started GHP Interiors in 1985. Bob dedicated his entire life to the love of his life, Linda and family. He could build and repair almost anything. Bob was preceded in death by his parents: Aleen Hodge & Barney Harwig, a sister and brother Beverly Russman & Bill Harwig and a special grandson, Collin Brown. Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Couch Harwig and their five children and spouses: Vicki (Jim) Thornsberry, Robbie (Robin) Harwig, Jane (Shawn) McAllister, Jennifer (Jason) Brown and Marc (Quin) Harwig. They have 15 grandchildren: Jeff, Tony, Peanut, Nick, Charlie, Melody, Shawnte, Marcedes, Mkayla, Caitlin, Kaylee, Kassidy, Hunter and Keller. There are four great grandchildren: Olivia, Brody, Logan and Ella. There is a sister and three brothers surviving: Kay Smith, Donald, Denny, Cary Harwig; and a special friend Larry Lorenz. All are invited to a Celebration of Bob's life Saturday at 11:00 at the Paquelet Funeral Home, Rev. Steven Gower will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
