Robert J. Gallo

Robert J. "Bobby" Gallo, 94, of Navarre, passed away on May 16, 2022, following an extended illness. He was born on June 28, 1927 to the late James and Mary (Varrassa) Gallo in Navarre. Robert worked as a Welder for Republic Steel for forty five years, retiring in 1988. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army. Bobby was a charter member of The Veterans Army Museum in Washington D.C. where his name is on a plaque. Bobby was also a member of Holy Family Parish, Navarre, Brewster Moose Lodge 1102, American Legion Post #160, Massillon Eagles #190, VFW post #5047 and the Army/Navy Garrison 1988. He was a well-known dancer and taught for Martha Galvin Dance Studio. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Jeannie (Karahuta) Gallo, whom he married on February 6, 1960; their son, Donald R." Donnie" (Ren) Gallo; a granddaughter, Ianna Gallo. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his siblings, Alex, Donald, James and Nancy Gallo, and Geraldine Schamer. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 22, 2022, 2:00 pm-4:00pm at Paquelet Funeral Home, Massillon. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022, 11:00am am at the Paquelet Funeral Home, Massillon, with Fr. Thomas Bishop, officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Lawn Cemetery.
