Robert J. Dottavio

Robert J. Dottavio Sr, 87, of Jackson Township, passed away April 17, 2021, in his home with his family by his side. Bob was born September 15, 1933 in Massillon, the son of the late Mildred and Joseph Dottavio. He retired in 1988 from Union Drawn Steel after 36 years of service. Bob loved quality time with his family and before Covid he looked forward to weekly outings with his buddies, Larry, Dave, Jim, Les and Bill. Also yearly reunions with his Army Buddies. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Peg; two children, Robert Dottavio, Jr and Vicki (Kevin) Samblanet; four grandchildren, Tara (Lash) Kinder, Sarah (Anthony) Miller, James Dottavio and Dena (Orlando) Newsome; five great-grandchildren, Cailey and Lashy Kinder, Trace, Tripp and Truett Miller; a sister, Janice (Don) Nagle; and a brother, Jerry (Linda) Dottavio. Honoring Bob’s wishes there will be a private burial at Brookfield Cemetery. A celebration of life is planned at a later date.
