Robert G. Riggle, age 86, of Massillon, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. He put up the good fight for the last several years as he overcame one medical condition after another that most people would never have survived. For a man that was very slight in stature he was one of the strongest persons the family ever knew. Bob was born on June 28, 1927 in Massillon the son of the late Emmett G. and Helen (Wilson) Riggle. He was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1945 graduate of Washington High School. Bob worked for Norfolk & Southern Railroad Co. as a Yard Master retiring after 45 years of service. He loved his Massillon Tigers and was a longtime ticket holder. In his spare time Bob tended to his flower gardens and swimming pool. He was compassionate and caring and loved his family with all his heart. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two infant granddaughters. He is survived by his loving wife Marjorie (Fouts) Riggle whom he shared 68 years of marriage; his children and their spouses, Sandra (Richard) Weaver and Kathy (William) Pritchard; his grandchildren, Todd (Melarie) Weaver, Amy (Craig) Dmitsak, Michael (Carol) Pritchard and Chad (Melinda) Pritchard; his great grandchildren, Megan (Jeremy) Wolford, Chelsea, Brayden, and Brent Pritchard, Malia, Adam, and Hayden Weaver, and Micah Dmitsak; and his great-great grandsons Caden and Callin. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 – 1:30 p.m. before the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either Crossroads Hospice or First Christian Church.
