Robert G. Hastler

Robert G. Hastler age 78 of Massillon passed away Thursday May 12, 2011 at Noble Pond after a lengthy illness. Bob was born February 14, 1933 in Massillon to the late George & Clara (Young) Hastler. He was a graduate of Washington High School in 1951 and served two years with the Army in Korea. He was a carpenter and in business with his dad in Hastler & Son Home Builders. For many years he was a crane operator at Union Drawn. His personal joy was collecting and trading trains, playing cards and games with family. He belonged to St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the K of C. #554. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Mysza in 2010. Bob is survived by his Beloved wife of 55 years, Mary (Kolek) Hastler of the residence; they have two surviving daughters: Vicki & Jack Sprankle of Dayton and Becky & Joe Danner of Dalton, a son William & Beth Hastler and a son in law Jeff Mysza all of Jackson Twp. Grandchildren: Heather Boggs, Eric Sprankle, Ryan & Jenna Mysza, Sara & Mark Danner, Branden & Bryan Hastler and one great grandson, Kyle Danner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Massillon, Fr. Ed Gretchko will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Sunday from 5-8 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Memorials can be sent to the Memorial Fund at St. Mary’s Catholic Church or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
