Robert E. Smith

Robert E. Smith, age 71 of Perry Township, died on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Aultman Hospital. He was born on June 29, 1938 in Pomeroy, Ohio. He was an area resident for most of his life. He served his country with the U.S. Army and was employed by the Timken Company where he worked as a press operator. He was preceded in death by his son Shawn Smith and his brother Chuck Smith. He is survived by his wife, Norma L. (Mannweiler) Smith, his daughter, Kelly Anders of San Diego, CA, his brothers, Art (Ruth) Smith of West Virginia and Fred (Joann) Smith of Canton, his sisters, Noreen (David) Rohrer of Logan, Ohio and Doreen Blasier of Virginia, his stepdaughters, Chris (Bill) Kegley, Lisa Burckhart and Angela Heffelfinger, his stepson Rick Johnson, two grandchildren, Trevor and Erika of California and many step grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. There are no calling hours or services and cremation has taken place. Family and friends can get together on Wednesday, November 18th at 5:00 P.M. at Ruben’s, 3242 Lincoln Way East in Massillon to celebrate his life.
