Robert E. Levers, age 86 of Massillon, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Barberton Citizens Hospital. He was born on January 1, 1925 in Massillon and was the son of the late Floyd and Georgia B. (Strecker) Levers. Upon graduation from Washington High School, where he was the drum major, in 1943, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country during World War II. Bob retired from Eaton manufacturing, where he was an accounts payable clerk; he also worked for the school board. He was a member of St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. Other memberships included the Elms Country Club, the Moose Lodge, and various bowling leagues. He also was an avid Massillon Tiger football fan. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard A. Levers and a sister, Audra Eby. He is survived by his wife, Isabella Gloria (Lopez) Levers, whom he married on September 9, 1950, his daughter, Dr. Lisa Lopez Levers and her husband Roman Tymchyshyn of Pittsburgh, PA, grandchildren Todd and Abbey Kasunick, and his brother David Levers and his wife Lois. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Cebula officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Monday from 6-8 P.M.
