Robert E. Kaser

Robert E. Kaser, age 77 of Massillon passed away Monday September 3, 2012 at his residence. Bob was born August 20, 1935 in Dover to the late Lyman & Nora (Frantz) Kaser. He was raised in Justus and moved to Massillon 34 years ago. Bob worked for Republic Steel for 43 years and retired in 1989. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and neighbors. Auctions were a delight for him, both buying and browsing. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters Mary Shilling and Margie Burkey; two brothers Harold & Jim Kaser; and a grandson Andrew Valentine. Bob is survived by his wife, Betty (Borton) Kaser with whom he shared 34 years of marriage. There are three sons: Steven (Sarah) Kaser, Gregory (Tessa) Kaser, and Todd (Sherri) Kaser; three daughters; Susan (Jim Wertz) Staggs, Robin (Jim) Santmyer & Brenda Kaser; three step-sons, Randy Carpenter, Rocky (Kim) Carpenter and Rodney (Melody) Carpenter; two step-daughters, Rhonda Kratz and Robin (Larry) Courtney. Bob has nine grandchildren, fifteen step-grandchildren and thirty-eight great grandchildren. Robert has one surviving sister, Betty Pinney. The funeral will be 10:30 Thursday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon, his pastor Cecil Thayer will officiate. His final resting place will be Brookfield Cemetery.
