Robert Skibicki, 83 of Massillon, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Bob was born on January 18, 1933 in Natrona, PA the son of the late Walter and Zophie (Rudnicki) Skibicki. Bob was a United States Army veteran and served our country during the Korean War. He received the "Veteran of the Year" award. He worked at Republic Steel and retired in 1981 after 38 years of service. He was a lifetime member and past Commander of the VFW Post #3124, and County Commander and Commander of Army/Navy Post #1984. He was a member of Eagles #190, D.A.V., AMVETS and American Legion Post in WV. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, vacationing at Disney World and spending time with his grandchildren. He always quoted "Gotta have a laugh everyday". Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Radella Jeanette, brothers, Theodore, Richard and Marion Skibicki, and his sisters, Cecilia Hagerty, Violet Wichkrowski, Monica Ragacki, and Irene Demando, son-in-laws, Richard McGuire and David Bowyer. He is survived by his wife, Della (Nyga) Skibicki whom he shared 64 years of marriage; his children, Raye Michelle Bowyer, Ranada McGuire, Robert Skibicki, Jr., and Rolland (Pam) Skibicki; his daughter-in-laws, Tammy Salazar and Laurie Skibicki; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Bob's life will be held at the Army/Navy #1984 at a later date.
