Robert "Bob" J. Valentine

Robert "Bob" J. Valentine, age 80, passed away on December 18, 2016. He was born in Canton on February 22, 1936 to the late Joseph & Alice (Lelakus) Valentine. He was a 1954 graduate of Central Catholic High School and attended Kent State University. He married JoAnn Bethel on September 07, 1957 and they shared 59 years together until his passing. Bob worked at Fisher Foods for 40 years until his retirement and was the Owner and Operator of the West End Tavern for 20 years. He enjoyed football especially Central Catholic and the Cleveland Browns and fishing with his buddy Sonny at Nimisila Reservoir and Atwood Lake. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife JoAnn; his son Vinton (Beth) Valentine his daughter Velecia (Todd Hawkins) Valentine; his grandchildren Dyanna (Adam) Stern, Michael (Laura) Valentine, Claire Valentine, Lydia Valentine, Kasey Hawkins and Kelsey Hawkins; his great-grandchildren Chase and Addison; his sister Carolyn (Ralph) Rizzo and a host of family members and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his son Victor Valentine. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and services were private.
