Robert "Bob" J. Stopar

Robert “Bob” J. Stopar, age 72 of Canal Fulton, passed away on August 07, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 30, 1946 in Barberton, OH to the late John and Christine (Casserman) Stopar. He married Joanne Opeka on August 22, 1970. Bob served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Meat Manager for FW Albrecht Grocery Company for over 40 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 554. Bob enjoyed many hobbies, but most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife Joni; his children Hilarie (Joseph) Yankello, Christa (Nathan) Russell, and Tim (Tara) Stopar; his grandchildren Olivia, Zachary and Joshua Yankello and Emily and Alex Russell; his sister Janice (Stephen) Yorks; 9 nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Bob was preceded in death by his sister Fran Dickinson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 11a.m. at SS. Philip and James Catholic Church in Canal Fulton. The family will receive friends from 4 -8p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A Rosary Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Interment with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 2p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
