Robert “Bob” C. McDonald, age 69, of Massillon passed away on October 29, 2021. He was born in Akron on July 29, 1952 to the late William and Geneva (Hall) McDonald. He was a 1970 graduate of Akron East High School. He married the love of his life Deanna Yoder on January 31, 1972 and they shared nearly 50 years of marriage together. Bob worked for Republic Steel for 29 years until the plant closed. He enjoyed Poker, Golf and the Cleveland Indians, but most importantly providing and spending time with his family and his dog Gunner. Bob was known for his sense of humor, his forgiving and kind heart and his undying love for Deanna. He will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Deanna; his children Bobby (Lora) McDonald and Misty L. McDonald; his grandchildren Ashley McDonald, Alex McDonald; his great-grandchildren Joslyn McDonald, Phoenix Autrey and Jovani Hall; his sisters Kathy Moore, Judi (Brad) King, Betty(Kevin) Caler, Teresa Anich, and Stephanie Anich; his brothers, Bill (Becky) McDonald, Clarence McDonald, Cecil McDonald, Sam Anich; his brother in law Frank Yoder Jr. and his sister in law Candy (John) Coughlin, his step mother Clara McDonald and his faithful canine companion Gunner Cecil. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his mother in law Anna Yoder and his father in law Frank Yoder Sr., his great grandson Houston Autrey and his grandmother Ruby Hall. A Celebration of his Homegoing will be held on Tuesday, November 02, 2021 at 11a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Pastor Mike Kager will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 01, 2021 from 6-8p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
