Robert A. Hankins, Sr., 79, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2015, following an extended illness. He was born in Buffalo, OH on October 23, 1935 to the late Russell and Rose (Shimp) Hankins. Robert worked many years at Merit Plastic and retired from Phoenix Packaging, he also owned and operated Wood N Plenty. He was a member of Louisville Eagles, Arie 2374 and the North American Hunting Club. He loved hunting, fishing and wood working. He was dedicated to his family. He is survived by his children, Sharon (David) Scally of Middlebranch, Kathleen (Blane) Schmucker of Canton, Robert A. (Gina) Hankins, Jr. of Strasburg and Kelly Christopher of Elizabethton, TN; eighteen grandchildren, including Beki Keister and Robert Hankins, III, whom he helped raise, and Michael Hankins, who helped aide in his care; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Romajean N. (Dohy) Hankins; and a son-in-law, Kevin A. Christopher Friends and family may call at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 11:30AM – 1:30PM, where a funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Kevin O'Brien, celebrant.
