Robert A. Demate

Robert A. DeMate, 83, passed away on October 17, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 16, 1938 to Beaulah and Charles DeMate in Canton, Ohio. He loved airplanes and was a pilot for many years. Bob also was a twenty-year member of the Little Sandy Creek Ruritans. He was a retired semi truck driver with over forty years of service, and received several Million Mile Accident-Free Awards, but officially retired while working for Praxair. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janice (LeBeau) DeMate; Daughters, Diana Collins and Angela S. Ziegelhofer (Alan); Son, Robert C. DeMate (Tracey); Grandchildren, Jason, Jackie, Joey and James. Preceded in death by: Mother, Beaulah (Mundy) DeMate; Father, Charles A. DeMate; Brother, Thomas DeMate; Sons-in-Law, Randy Barkheimer and David Collins. There are no services being held at the family's request.
