Rita M. Burger

Rita M. Burger, age 84 of Massillon, passed away at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 19, 1929 in Canal Fulton, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Arnold and Fay (France) Boak. Rita was a parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massillon. She was always there to help anyone who needed assistance and was well known for her enthusiastic energy and spirit. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald P. Burger, Sr. on February 27, 1995. They were married on September 25, 1948. Also preceding her were 3 brothers, Albert Boak, Robert Boak and Bert Boak. Rita is survived by her children and their spouses, Don and Eva Burger, Jr., Greg and Mary Burger, and Patti and Bruce Chapman, her grandchildren, Jaime (Jason) Snyder, Jeff Burger, Brian (Erin) Burger, Dan Burger and his fiancé Taylor Vespoint, Marie Burger and her fiance Dave Zito, Amy (Nick) Petit, Eric Chapman and Adam Chapman and her great grandsons, Jake and Josh Snyder, Anthony Zito and Brady Burger. Also surviving are her sisters, Betty Christner, Mary Hostetler, Peggy Sampson, Lucy Holmes, Doris Fisher and Donna Ritter and many loving nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, June 24th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial of her cremated remains to follow at the parish cemetery.
