Richard Thornton Myers

Richard “Dick” T. Myers, age 89 of Massillon passed away on January 25, 2019. He was born in Alliance to the late Theodore and Myrtle Myers on August 12, 1929. He was a 1947 graduate of Washington High School. Richard married Norma Jean Hollinger and they shared many years together until her passing in 2005. Richard owned Dick’s Appliance and formerly worked at Dalton Appliance. He enjoyed World War I & II vintage airplanes, bowling, model building, woodworking, a life member of the NRA and was proud of the fact that he built his own house. He will forever be remembered as a hardworking person. He is survived by his children Jeffery Myers, Linda Myers, Carla (Michael) Budrow, Lisa (Jeff) Vogelgesang; his grandchildren Christopher (Kimberly), Jason (Roxanne), Joshua (Ashley), Katrina, Justin, Michael, Ashley and Tiana; his great-grandchildren Sierra, Lilian, Arianna, Silas, Titus, Trenton, Miette, Thorton as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his son Timothy Jon Myers; his grandson Nick Myers; his sisters Patricia Wolfe and Jody Smith; his brother Jim Myers and his best friend Harry Bushway. A Celebration of his life will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Grace Fellowship at 6282 Nave St. N.W., Canton OH at 12 noon. Reverend E. Keith Stephens and Richard’s grandson Reverend Jason Myers will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 6-8pm and from 10-12pm at the Church on Monday, January 28, 2019.
