Richard "Skip" Gatrell

Richard V. "Skip" Gatrell, 81, of Perry Township, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Richard was born on June 5, 1941 in Canton, Ohio the son of the late Clyde and Victoria Gatrell. Skip was 1959 graduate of Glenwood High School. He was life guard at Myers Lake. Skip loved riding his motorcycles. He enjoyed hunting, and fishing. He was an avid sports fan and followed the Ohio State Buckeyes, Browns, Indians and the Cavs. He also played basketball in his younger years. He also enjoyed camping and boating. Most of all Skip loved spending time with his family and friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Janet Gatrell, daughter Beth Ann Kortis, granddaughter, Kari Ann Hurst, great-grandson, Luke Nicholas Kortis, brother, Larry Gatrell; and brother-in-law, Dan Brenisen.

He is survived by his children, Cindy (Frank) Perez, Michael Gatrell, Dana Louise(Dave Elkins) Arnold, Steve (Tina) Kortis, and James Kortis, Jr.; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorinda (Jim Godsey) Brenisen; and his companion Bonnie Klausner.
